Hi, I’m Robyn

I was lucky early on in life to know that I wanted to go into counselling as my career, specifically in secondary school counselling. Knowing that school counsellors in BC are required to be licensed teachers, I trained and then work as a teacher for eight years and did my master’s in counselling. I continue to work as a counsellor in a high school, and I don’t see myself leaving that field entirely because of the fulfillment I find in my role.

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and draws from various counselling theories, like family systems, cognitive behavioural, and dialectical behaviour therapies, in order to meet the needs of my clients.

I stay up to date on recent research and hone my skills by taking both in-person and online workshops and courses. Frequent professional development is one of the ways I like to stay invested in my work.

My hope for our work together is that you become comfortable enough to get uncomfortable. Counselling is tough, and my goal is to help you navigate the difficult journey with compassion and curiosity.
